Newborn Sessions
Preparing for a newborn session can feel like one more thing to add to an already long list of things to do. You have diapers, feeding supplies, clothes, appointments, and everything else that comes with having a new baby. The last thing I want you to worry about is packing a giant bag of photography supplies before heading to your session.
As a Manor newborn photographer, I keep several essentials in my studio so parents can arrive with baby and focus on enjoying the experience.
If you're looking for a newborn photographer in Manor, TX or the Austin area, here's a look at a few things I have ready for your session.
1. Newborn Wraps & Blankets
You don't need to bring a suitcase full of blankets and wraps to your newborn session.
I keep a variety of newborn wraps and blankets in my studio that can be used throughout the session. They give me options for different setups while keeping baby's photos cohesive and simple.
Of course, if you have a special blanket, outfit, or item you'd love to include, you're always welcome to bring it. But you don't have to worry about having the "right" photography blanket or wrap.
The goal is to make things easier for you.
2. Newborn Props & Posing Essentials
Another thing you don't need to worry about packing is a bunch of newborn photography props.
I have simple props and posing essentials available in the studio for your session. These help create different looks while keeping the focus on your baby.
I also plan the setups ahead of time so we're not trying to figure everything out once you arrive. Depending on your session, we can incorporate different colors, textures, wraps, and simple props.
If you're coming in for a full newborn session with parents and siblings, we can also plan family photos around the overall look of your gallery.
You don't need to know how to pose your baby or figure out what will photograph well. That's my job.
3. A Baby Shusher
And yes, I have a baby shusher!
Newborns don't always cooperate with our plans, and that's completely normal. Sometimes baby just needs a little help settling down between poses or setups.
Having a baby shusher in the studio gives us another tool to help create a calm environment when baby needs it.
And if baby needs to stop for a feeding, diaper change, or extra cuddles, that's okay too. Newborn sessions aren't about rushing through a checklist. We work around baby.
What Should You Bring?
The biggest thing you need to bring is your baby.
I recommend bringing whatever you normally need for baby, including feeding supplies, a pacifier if you use one, and anything else that helps you feel comfortable. If there's a special outfit, blanket, heirloom, or sentimental item you'd like photographed, bring that too.
Everything else doesn't need to feel complicated.
My Manor newborn photography studio is set up with the lighting, backdrops, wraps, blankets, props, and other essentials we need for your session.
