Your Baby Looks Completely Different
You booked the newborn photos.
You took hundreds of pictures on your phone.
And now somehow, your tiny newborn is already six months old.
If you're wondering whether you really need another professional photo session before the first birthday, I get it. Between diapers, bottles, naps, and everything else that comes with having a baby, another photo session might not feel like a necessity.
But honestly? Six-month milestone photos are one of my favorite stages to photograph.
And here's why.
The Personality Starts Coming Out
Think about how much your baby has changed since their newborn session.
Those sleepy, curled-up newborn poses have turned into big smiles, curious eyes, chunky little legs, and a personality that is starting to really show.
Around this stage, babies are becoming much more interactive. They may be reaching for toys, grabbing their toes, laughing, making silly faces, and starting to sit with support or independently. Every baby develops differently, so your little one doesn't have to be sitting perfectly to have beautiful milestone photos.
Six-month photos are different.
This is when you start seeing that little personality.
Maybe your baby has the biggest gummy smile.
Maybe they have the most serious little expression.
Maybe they laugh every time Mom makes a silly noise.
Do You Really Need 6-Month Photos?
Need? No.
But will you be glad you have them? I think so.
Your baby's first year is full of huge changes, and it's easy to focus on the newborn stage and then jump straight to the first birthday.
Six months is the beautiful middle chapter that often gets skipped.
And someday, when you're looking through those photos and wondering how your baby ever got so big, you'll have more than a camera-roll full of snapshots.
You'll have a moment in time you can hold onto.
