Is it too late?

When most parents hear “newborn photos,” they picture a tiny, sleepy baby curled up in a perfect little pose.

But what happens when your baby is already 4 weeks old?

The good news is: you haven't missed your chance.

I recently photographed a sweet little baby who was 4 weeks old, and it was such a good reminder that there isn't one perfect age for capturing these memories.

At 4 weeks, babies can be a little more alert and may not settle into every traditional newborn pose as easily as a younger baby. But that doesn't mean the photos are any less beautiful. In fact, it gives us the opportunity to capture something different.

We can photograph those wide-awake eyes, tiny expressions, stretches, yawns, little fingers and toes, and all of the details that make your baby uniquely yours.

Every baby is different

Some babies are incredibly sleepy at 4 weeks. Others want to look around, stretch, wiggle and be close to Mom or Dad.

And that's okay.

Instead of trying to force a baby into a pose, I let the session follow the baby. We take breaks when needed, allow time for feeding and soothing, and focus on creating images that feel natural and comfortable.

Don't wait...

The newborn stage changes so quickly. If your baby is already a few weeks old and you haven't booked a session, don't assume you've missed the opportunity.

Your baby will never be this little again.

Whether they're 10 days old or 4 weeks old, there are still so many tiny details worth remembering.

The little rolls.

The sleepy stretches.

The way they fit perfectly in your arms.

Those tiny fingers wrapped around yours.

Those are the moments you'll want to remember years from now.

Your newborn session doesn't have to be perfect

The goal isn't to create a perfectly posed baby for every photograph.

The goal is to document your baby as they are right now.

And sometimes, those unexpected moments end up being the ones you love the most.

If your little one is already a few weeks old, don't count yourself out. Let's create something beautiful that captures this short, incredibly special season of your family's life.
